6-7 November 2015 Montevideo hosts the Courtyard of the Gentiles.
Uruguay is considered one of the most secular countries of America and its capital will host a dialogue between believers and non-believers on the theme "Dialogue on Liberty and Construction of Society".
Organized by the Archdiocese of Montevideo with the help of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the authorities of the Uruguayan capital, a variety of forums will be attended by personalities from the world of academics, culture, politics and art. Some of the attendees will be Dr. Julio Ma. Sanguinetti, Prof. Gerardo Caetano, Dra. Ana Ribeiro, Rev. Eduardo Casarotti, Dr. Roberto Markarian, Lic. Patricia Lussich, and Lic. Tomás Linn amongst many others.
The theme in the discussion forums revolves around “Freedom of Education,” “Freedom of Expression/Speech,” and “Secularism as a sign of identity of the Uruguayan Culture.” All of these forums include the participation of the President of the Pontifical Council for Culture, Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi.
